Soft Tissue Injuries

In accidents involving cyclists, soft tissue injuries, where there is damage to the muscles or ligaments, are frequently seen.

Soft tissue injuries can result in swelling, bruising and pain, and these symptoms, which can be very debilitating and last for months, may require specialist medical treatment and rehabilitation.

The trauma or impact of the accident may also cause considerable nerve damage.

Compensation awards for soft tissue injuries - which involve damage to the muscles, ligaments and tendons - vary depending upon the severity and duration of the symptoms.

In cases involving cyclists with soft tissue or moderate injuries, it’s important to obtain medical evidence from specialists such as accident and emergency consultants, pain consultants and/or physiotherapists or, in serious injury cases, from a specialist orthopaedic surgeon. At Cycle Law Scotland, we work closely with several of Scotland’s top medical, surgical and rehabilitation specialists.
