Near Misses

This page has been designed to demonstrate to Police Scotland just how easy it is to capture information in order to better understand the kind of experiences that vulnerable road users are facing on a daily basis.

Transport Scotland statistics regarding road traffic injuries are derived from Police reporting. They should record fatalities, serious injuries and minor injuries although we believe that these figures are being under-reported. There is currently no visibility of "Near misses" so this data should help to develop a better understanding of the problem and ensure appropriate action is taken to improve things.
